MAC Announces Gymnast and Specialist of the Week

Gymnast of the Week
Kristin Teubner, Central Michigan
Junior, Denver, Colo. (Grandview)
Teubner led CMU to a victory at Kent State by winning three events including the all-around (39.250). Teubner also won vault and beam, posting a career-high 9.925 on vault and a 9.775 on beam. She took second on bars with a career-high of 9.800. Her score on vault is the top score in the MAC this season while her all-around score is the second-best this year. CMU broke Kent State's 20-meet MAC winning streak over the weekend to move into first place in the conference.

Co-Specialists of the Week
Meaghan McWhorter, Central Michigan
RS Freshman, Grand Ledge, Mich. (Grand Ledge)
McWhorter helped CMU defeat Kent State by posting a career-best 9.875 on vault, finishing second behind teammate Kristin Teubner.  McWhorter's score is the third-best in the MAC this season and far exceeds her previous career high of 9.725.  She helped the Chippewas post its best score on vault this year with a 49.125 as CMU handed KSU its first conference loss in almost four years.

Lindsay Runyan, Kent State
Sophomore, Maineville, Ohio (Ursuline)
Runyan won on the uneven bars with a score of 9.825 and tied for second on the balance beam with a 9.725 in Kent State's meet against Central Michigan last Saturday (Feb. 12). Kent State looks to get back on the winning path with a Jan. 20 trip to DeKalb, Ill. to take on Northern Illinois.

Nicole Allen, Ball State
Sophomore, Buford, Ga. (Hebron Christian Academy)
Nicole Allen managed a career high 9.875 on the vault to tie for the title in Ball State's meet at Illinois-Chicago. This marked the fourth time this season she has either tied or won the vault competition.

Brittney Emmons, Ball State
Junior, Pace, Fla. (Tate)
Brittney Emmons led the Cardinals with a first place in the all-around and a tie for first on the bars in Ball State's meet at Illinois-Chicago. Emmons tied her season high with a 9.750 on the bars and tallied a 38.500 to win the all-around. It marked Emmons first all-around victory this season and her second on the bars in 2010-11. She also tied for third on the vault with a 9.775 and tied for third on the floor with a 9.775.

Christina Lenny, Kent State
Senior, Broadview Heights, Ohio (Brecksville-Broadview Heights)
Lenny took second in the all-around with a point total of 39.225 in Kent State's meet against Central Michigan last Saturday (Feb. 12). She tied for second place on both the vault (9.875) and the uneven bars (9.800) in addition to tying for third on the floor exercise with a 9.825. Kent State looks to get back on the winning path with a Jan. 20 trip to DeKalb, Ill. to take on Northern Illinois.

Holly Reichard, Northern Illinois
Senior, Palatine, Ill. (Fremd)
Holly Reichard posted her best all-around score of the season as well as her highest bars score of the year in leading NIU to its top team total of the season. She won the bars and all-around events on the night and tied for fourth in the vault. Reichard's score was .600 higher than her previous best this season.

Natalie Sutter, Northern Illinois
Sophomore, Barberton, Ohio (Coventry)
Natalie Sutter posted NIU's highest score of the day on floor exercise and tied her season best score with a 9.725 to take fourth place on that event. Sutter's score tied for the top NIU score on any event on the day.

Kristen Seidowski, Western Michigan
Freshman, DeWitt, Mich. (DeWitt)
In her only competition, freshman Kristen Seidowski took first on vault against Northern Illinois, helping WMU improve to 3-0 in the MAC. Seidowski recorded a career high 9.825, improving on her previous best of 9.725. The score was also a team season high for the Broncos.
