Miami Earns Women's Tennis Regular Season Championship

Cleveland, Ohio ? With two wins this weekend, Miami University won the MAC regular season title and earned the No. 1 seed for this year’s MAC Women’s Tennis Championship that is scheduled for April 23-26 on the campus of Bowling Green State University. The RedHawks fashioned a perfect 8-0 conference record.


At the No. 2 seed is the defending tournament champion Buffalo. The Bulls compiled a 6-2 mark, tied with 2008 regular season title holder Western Michigan. UB earned the No. 2 seed by virtue of its regular season win over the Broncos, who are the No. 3 seed.


Host Bowling Green is the No. 4 seed after finishing with a 5-3 league record. At No. 5 is Toledo, compiling a 4-4 record. The Rockets and Akron Zips (No. 6) finished tied with identical MAC records, however UT defeated Akron in the regular season to win the tiebreaker.


Rounding out the field is No. 7 Eastern Michigan (2-6), No. 8 Northern Illinois (1-7) and No. 9 Ball State (0-8).


The complete schedule is as follows. All matches are scheduled for Keefe Tennis Courts on the BGSU campus. In bad weather, the competition will be moved indoors to the Perrysburg Tennis Center.

Parking for teams and spectators will be available at the lots adjacent to the

Keefe Tennis Courts. There is ample parking in Lot 10 (Ice Arena Lot), Lot L

(north side of Doyt Perry Football Stadium), and the Grass Lot adjacent to the

soccer complex (weather permitting)
