Additional Nominees:
Maksym Bartiuk, Northern Illinois - Freshman, Ukraine
Freshman Maksym Bartiuk continued his torrid stretch through the MAC with his tenth-consecutive win at the No. 1 position in Northern Illinois' 6-1 loss at Western Michigan last Friday. Bartiuk powered to a first-set victory (6-3) over Western Michigan's Kazuya Komada, before being outlasted in the second frame, 6-4. With the team result already being decided, Bartiuk then defeated Komada in the ensuing super tie-breaker, 10-4. Bartiuk remained unbeaten in MAC play, and has not lost since Feb. 7. Freshman Bryant Dudzik had a perfect afternoon, going 2-0 against Chicago State without dropping a single game in singles or doubles action. Playing with classmate Terence Weigand, the duo recorded an 8-0 win at second doubles to begin the day, and he followed that with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at fifth singles.
