Additional Nominees:

Maksym Bartiuk, Northern Illinois - Freshman, Ukraine

Freshman Maksym Bartiuk continued his torrid stretch through the MAC with his tenth-consecutive win at the No. 1 position in Northern Illinois' 6-1 loss at Western Michigan last Friday.  Bartiuk powered to a first-set victory (6-3) over Western Michigan's Kazuya Komada, before being outlasted in the second frame, 6-4. With the team result already being decided, Bartiuk then defeated Komada in the ensuing super tie-breaker, 10-4. Bartiuk remained unbeaten in MAC play, and has not lost since Feb. 7.  In doubles play, Northern Illinois No. 2 tandem of Bartiuk and Maximilan Phillips stretched the pro-set to extra frames, but eventually dropped a 9-8 decision.

Bryant Dudzik, Toledo - Freshman, Gowen, Mich.

Freshman Bryant Dudzik had a perfect afternoon, going 2-0 against Chicago State without dropping a single game in singles or doubles action. Playing with classmate Terence Weigand, the duo recorded an 8-0 win at second doubles to begin the day, and he followed that with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at fifth singles.

Pablo Olivarez, Western Michigan - Sophomore, Muntinlupa City, Philippines

Sophomore Pablo Olivarez led Western Michigan with a 3-1 mark in a pair of matches against Big Ten foe Michigan State and conference rival Northern Illinois. Olivarez and junior Casey Cullen increased their winning streak to five with an 8-6 win over Denis Bogatov and Ronnie Hulewicz (two of the top three singles players for Michigan State) of the Spartans and then won 8-5 against the Huskies. Olivarez improved to 16-7 in dual singles and 3-1 in the MAC by coming back from 4-1 down in the second set to win 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3 against Northern Illinois.
