Men’s Tennis Player of the Week

Kevin Hayward went a perfect 4-0 at No. 1 singles and No. 3 doubles in a pair of sweeps over Bradley and Valparaiso on Saturday. Hayward and freshman teammate Casey Cullen improved to 15-0 this year in doubles by giving up only two games in 8-2 and 8-0 wins over Bradley and Valparaiso. In fact, Hayward didn't lose a single game against Valparaiso by adding a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles. He also dropped only three games in a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1 against Bradley. Hayward improved to 6-1 at the top singles position this season.

Nikesh Singh Panthlia, Buffalo

Singh Panthlia won his doubles and singles matches in UB's 5-2 victory at Colgate on Saturday, February 16. Playing second singles, he defeated Colgate's Tyler Deck, 6-4, 6-4, to move into a tie for fifth place on UB's all-time career singles win list with 54. He is 7-1 in dual meet play this spring. He also teamed with Marcello Mazzetto to form UB's number one doubles team that defeated Deck and Martin MacIntyre, 8-6.


Jayson Miller, Toledo

Miller lost his first set to the Boilermakers Kelubia Mabatah, 2-6. Miller then came back and took the next two sets, 6-3, 6-2, for the lone point for the Rockets.
