Kent State Game Notes
The one through five hitters in the KSU lineup (Leah Archual, Lauren Grimes, Beth Cinadr, Jess Carmichael, Ashlee Hein) have been rock solid over the past eight games, hitting a combined .382 (50-for-131) during that span. Batting in the two-spot, Grimes is hitting .500 (14-for-28) over her last eight games with three home runs, a double, seven RBI, 12 runs scored and three stolen bases.  Miami

Miami Game Notes
Miami only played one game last week, a 6-4 defeat at Purdue on Mar. 24. Daniela Torres led off the game with a home run, and Miami eventually increased its lead to 3-1, but a four-run fifth inning by the Boilermakers proved to be the difference. The latest NCAA rankings were released on Mar. 29. Miami ranks 14th in the nation in triples per game at 0.32. It is also 34th in fielding percentage at .969 and 50th in earned run average at 2.28. Individually, Meghan Mawn is 21st toughest player to strikeout in the country, fanning an average of once every 26 at-bats. She is tied with Daniela Torres for 24th in the nation with three triples. Sophomore pitcher Jessica Simpson is 44th in the nation with a 1.51 ERA and 63rd with three shutouts. Senior pitcher Meredith Linch is 19th in the country with two saves.
 Northern Illinois

Northern Illinois Game Notes
NIU enters the weekend looking to rebound from a doubleheader loss to Valparaiso Wednesday evening and returning home should help in that effort. NIU played well in its first three home games of the season, going 2-1, sweeping a doubleheader from Western Illinois in the home opener.
 Ohio

Ohio Game Notes
Jillian Van Wagnen tallied five total hits, and Ohio's offense exploded with a combined 19 hits on the evening, but it was No. 21/22 Ohio State that took advantage of timely hits in sweeping the twinbill, 9-4 and 9-3, Thursday night at Buckeye Field. The Green and White (5-20) outhit the Buckeyes (20-10) on the evening, but OSU managed to take advantage of timely hits and a couple big innings to take the doubleheader in a pair of contests that were tightly contested.
 Toledo

Toledo Game Notes
The Rockets (6-21) will look to snap a four-game losing skid. UT enters the weekend ranked among the MAC's best in several offensive categories. Toledo has tallied the most hits (188) and scored the second-most runs (113) in the league, while the team's .254 batting average is fourth-best. The Rockets are also on pace to score more than 200 runs in a season for just the third-time since 2000. Brooke Gates finds her name littered across the top-10 in MAC hitting categories. The sophomore sits tied for second in the MAC with seven doubles, tied for fourth in the MAC with 26 hits and 17 RBI and sixth with 11 steals. Her 39 total bases are also the seventh-most in the conference.
 Western Michigan

Western Michigan Game Notes
WMU opens the Mid-American Conference season on Friday against Buffalo, looking to stop a five-game skid, the teams second losing streak of at least four games this season. Western Michigan's string of bringing in pitchers and having them find success early in their careers seems to be continuing with Diana Patterson. The freshman right hander currently ranks second in the MAC in ERA (1.47) and opposing batting average (.171).
