MAC Men's Tri-Golfers of the Week
Mackenzie Hughes, Kent State
Junior, Dundas, Ontario (Highland Secondary)
Bank of Tennessee at The Ridges, Par 72
72-66-65 (203, 1st)
Junior Mackenzie Hughes (Dundas, Ontario / Highland Secondary) shot a final round a seven-under 65 to walk away with the Bank of Tennessee individual medalist honors by seven strokes. Led by the dominating 13-under 203 (72-66-65) performance from Hughes, the Kent State men's golf team finished second in the 14-team field. Hughes' monster final round at par 72 Ridges Golf and Country Club gives him his second individual collegiate title while his 203 total is the lowest round by a Kent State golfer in 10 years. Only two other times in school history (Ben Curtis; 200, 1999 Red River Classic & Jon Mills; 202, 2000 NCAA Central Regional) has a Golden Flash shot lower than 203 in a 54-hole tournament. The 65 equals the fourth lowest individual round in school history and capped off a remarkable week in which the KSU junior dominated the par 5s. Hughes played the four par 5s on the course at five under on Sunday and a tournament best nine-under for the week.

Charlie Olson, Bowling Green
Sophomore, Suttons Bay, Mich. (Suttons Bay/Hope College)
APSU Intercollegiate, Par 72
67-69-68 (204, 1st)
Sophomore transfer Charlie Olson broke the BGSU record for 54-hole individual score and won a four-way playoff as he took medalist honors at the 2010 APSU Intercollegiate. Olson birdied the second playoff hole to cap off his best two days as a Falcon. His score of 204 broke the school record for 54 holes by four strokes, and his play helped the team set a 54-hole team score school record with 831 for the tourney. That broke the old record by 14 strokes. His final round 68 helped the team break BGSU's 18-hole record, as well. Olson's 204 was the second-lowest score for a winner in the history of the APSU Intercollegiate.

Austin Kelly, Miami
Freshman, Chatham, Ontario (Ursuline College)

Georgetown Intercollegiate, Par 71
66-71-68 (205, 1st)
Austin won his first collegiate event in only his sixth start. His score of eight under par was four shots better than anyone on the course. Kelly is now tied for second on the team with a 72.94 scoring average and has shot four rounds in the 60s.

Other Nominee:
Zach MacDougall, Eastern Michigan
Junior, Coquitlam, British Columbia (Centennial)
Georgetown Intercollegiate, Par 71
71-66-78 (215, 13th)
Junior Zach MacDougall's (Coquitlam, British Columbia-Centennial) 13th place finish helped the Eastern Michigan University men's golf team take fifth place at the Georgetown Invitational. The 12-team field competed at the par-71, 6,953-yard Members Club at Four Streams. One day after equaling the course record with a five-under par 66, MacDougall closed out the round with a 78 for a 54-hole total of 215 (71-66-78). The top 15 finish is the first of the British Columbia's career, and the two-day mark shattered his previous career-low of 220 set just a week ago at the Firestone Invitational Oct. 11-12.
