NASHPORT, OHIO ? Kent State freshman Mercedes Germino edged senior teammate Kirby Dreher by one stroke in the individual race as the Golden Flashes claimed their 11th straight Mid-American Women’s Golf Championship. Kent State turned in the low round of the weekend (+4, 292) on the par 72, 6,147-yard Longaberger Golf Club to garner the conference’s automatic NCAA Regional bid.
For the third consecutive season, the Eastern Michigan University women's golf team equaled the school's best finish with a runner-up showing at the Mid-American Conference Women's Golf Championship Sunday, April 26, at the par 72, 6,147-yard Longaberger Golf Club. The Eagles carded a three-day total of 1,256 (333-307-314-302).
Western Michigan and Akron tied for third place. Toledo placed fifth followed closely by Ball State in sixth and Ohio in seventh. Northern Illinois and Bowling Green finished eighth and ninth respectfully.
