MAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week


Kasey Carpenter - Miami

Junior ? Cincinnati, Ohio (Cincinnati Hills Academy)

In her debut at Miami since transferring from Wisconsin, Carpenter raced in four total events (in two meets) last week, taking first three times and finishing second in the other race. Her time of 2:01.57 in the 200-backstroke vs. Louisville and Purdue was Miami's third-best time ever, and her time of :57.51 in the 100-backstroke was the eighth-best time ever.


MAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week


Mike Carroll - Miami

Junior ? Toledo, Ohio (St. Francis DeSales HS)

Posted victories in the 100 Breaststroke (59.30) and the 200 Breaststroke (2:11.71) in a 148-112 victory over Xavier.


Additional Women’s Nominations

Jordan Deren - Buffalo

Sophomore ? Lackawanna, N.Y. (Nardin Academy)

Deren swept the distance freestyle events as Buffalo beat Duquesne, 116-89. Deren won the 1000 freestyle with a winning time of 10:33.79, and swam to a first place finish in the 500 freestyle in a time of 5:09.42.


Chelsey Bower ? Ohio

Junior ? Bethel Park, Pa. (Bethel Park HS)

Chelsey swam to a pair of third-place finishes in the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle at the Debbie Pipher Memorial Invitational, hosted by Washington State this past weekend. Facing tough competition in Washington State and Notre Dame, Chelsey swam a personal-best 23.97 in the 50 free, while posting a 53.18 in the 100 free. She also swam the anchor leg on Ohio's second-place 400 freestyle relay team (3:34.52) and Ohio's third-place 400 medley relay team (3:57.45).


Jacy Dyer ? Toledo

Lebanon, Pa. (Cedar Crest HS)
Dyer continued her high performance in the pool, breaking the 1000 free record she set last week with a sub-10 minute time of 9:59.12. Dyer placed second in the 500 free with a time of 4:56.73.


Additional Men’s Nominations

Zach Ruske ? Buffalo

Senior ? Superior, Colo. (Monarch)

Ruske won the 200 backstroke (1:53.31) in the meet against Duquesne, a 111-94 loss.
