MAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week

Donald Ellison ? Eastern Michigan

Junior- King City, Ontario-King City Secondary

Ellison helped the Eagles to their 50th consecutive MAC dual meet win when they defeated Miami, 191.5-108.5.  Ellison won the 100 breaststroke (58.76), the 200 breaststroke (2:06.54) and the 200 IM (1:55.26) for the Eagles.

Paul Ricard - Miami

Senior - Bowling Green, Ohio (Bowling Green)

In his final two home meets as a RedHawk, Ricard registered four wins in individual events and a second-place finish as a part of the 400 freestyle relay team in a tie against Kenyon College and a loss to Eastern Michigan. Ricard registered Miami’s first victory of the day with a time of 1:43.11 in the 200 freestyle, which bested Kenyon’s Tom Irgens by .18 seconds. In his second and final event of the day, Ricard bested Kenyon’s Kegan Borland in the 500 freestyle as he touched the wall in a time of 4:38.52. In his final home meet of his Miami career against Eastern Michigan, Ricard won the 1000 freestyle in a time of 9:28.98 and he won the event by just under five seconds. He completed a sweep of the distance events when he won the 500 freestyle in a time of 4:38.41. Ricard also registered a second-place finish, with the 400 freestyle relay team, in the final event.
