Eastern Michigan's Dan Wohl Named MAC Men's Swimmer of the Week

Wohl helped the Eagles to two victories with four first place finishes. Wohl finished first in the 100-yard butterfly in EMU’s 139- 80 win against IUPUI. The following day, he posted the top time in the 1,000-yard freestyle and 200-yard IM as the Eagles defeated Ball State, 135.5-99.5. The conference victory marked the 45th consecutive regular-season dual meet victory for the Eagles. EMU has been perfect in conference action the past eight seasons and has not lost a league meet since the 1997-98 campaign.

Luke Herlehy won three events in three tries this weekend in a thrilling 124-117 victory at Buffalo. Herlehy logged season and personal unshaven bests in the 1000 freestyle (9:33.63) and the 500 freestyle (4:43.88) and anchored the victorious 400 freestyle relay (3:10.46) in 47.96. The match came down to the last event, the 400 freestyle relay, with the winner landing the meet victory. Herlehy went stroke for stroke with the Buffalo anchor but was able to touch the wall .14 of a second ahead of the UB team to secure the event and meet victory for the Bobcats.


Zach Whitaker

Ball State

Whitaker swept the 3-meter and 1-meter events after placing first in the 3-meter dive with a score of 307.72 in a loss to Eastern Michigan.  Whitaker also scored a 277.65 to win the 1-meter event.


Miami University did not compete this past week.

University at Buffalo did compete this week but did not submit a Swimmer of the Week Nomination.
