Getting to Know...NIU's Tim King
Tim King is a junior defender for Northern Illinois. Last season, the then-sophomore started all 19 games for the Huskies and scored their lone goal in a 1-1 tie with North Carolina, who was ranked #1 in the country at the time. Tim and rest of his team will get their season underway this Friday when they travel to the Portland Invitational in Oregon. There they will play the host Pilots in the Friday nightcap before facing off with the Washington Huskies on Sunday afternoon.1. Why did you choose NIU?
The coaching staff. On my visit I really liked them. Also because of the team. We are a very close-knit team compared to other teams at schools I visited.2. What is your greatest accomplishment so far as an athlete?
Well it is more of a team accomplishment than just my personal one, but it would be tying North Carolina last year because they are ranked number one in the nation. 3. What is the best advice you have received from Coach Luzzi?
To work hard and stay committed because if you work hard, good things will come.4. What is the best part of being a Division I athlete?
The close-knit group. Our team is like a family; we're really close. We spend three to four hours a day together so it's really nice.5. What is something most people don't know about you?
