Brittany Kelly tied for eighth at the Indiana Invitational in Bloomington, Ind., and was the top Mid-American Conference golfer at the 16-team event. Kelly's final round 70 ties her lowest round of the seson. She leads the Cardinals with a 75.21 average, and now has seven top-10 finishes on the season.
Susy Grunden, Bowling Green, Fr., Krum, Texas / Denton Calvary Academy
EKU Colonel Classic
Susy Grunden carded a 73-76 on Saturday to sit just three shots behind the tournament leaders at the EKU Colonel Classic, but fired a final round 84 to finish 28th. The freshman's 73 matched the BGSU school record for lowest round ever by a Falcon, which Grunden already owns.
Emily Podzielinski, Eastern Michigan, Fr., Noblesville, Ind.-Noblesville
Freshman Emily Podzielinski (Noblesville, Ind.-Noblesville) continued her strong play with the seventh top 20 showing of her rooking campaign, turning in a 15th place finish at the Indiana Invitational here at the 6,142-yard, par-72 Indiana University Golf Course, April 10-11. Returning close to home, the Noblesville, Ind. native carded a 73 in the final round to finish with a 223 (75-75-73), the lowest 54-hole score of her young career.
Kim Hunley, Northern Illinois, Sr., Aurora, Ill./Aurora
Shot an opening round 76, tied for the fifth-lowest round of the tournament... followed that with a 78 on day two to finish the tournament in third place, three strokes ahead of fourth, and just four strokes off the winning score.
Erica Rivard, Toledo, Jr., Tecumseh, ONT/Belle River District
EKU Lady Colonel Classic
Junior Erica Rivard led the Rockets to a fourth-place finish at the EKU Lady Colonel Classic last weekend. Rivard registered her third Top 10 finish of the season, placing sixth with a 10-over par 226 (80-69-77). Rivard is now tied for the team lead in Top 10 showings with junior Michelle Hui.
Elise Swartout , Western Michigan, Sr., Ann Arbor, Mich./Ann Arbor-Pioneer
Elise Swartout opened the IU Invitational with four birdies during the first round and finished the tournament with seven. She sandwiched a pair of 2-over par rounds of 74 around a second round score of 5-over par 77. Swartout was the highest Bronco finisher in a tournament for the fourth time this season.
