MAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Knot Likitkumchorn, Toledo - Junior, Yala, Thailand
Junior Knot Likitkumchorn went a perfect 4-0 in leading the Rockets to victories over IUPUI and Valparaiso on Saturday. Playing at first singles, he won both of his matches in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1 over IUPUI's Deon Shafer and 7-6, 6-2 over Valparaiso's Adam Whitmer. Likitkumchorn also registered a pair of wins at first doubles, joining with Leo Sarria to win 8-4 against IUPUI and playing with Aleksandar Elezovic to earn an 8-3 victory against Valparaiso.
Kirill Kolomyts, Buffalo - Senior, Moscow, Russia
Senior Kirill Kolomyts scored Buffalo's lone win against Penn State in the 6-1 loss to the Nittany Lions. Kolomyts, playing at third singles, knocked off Penn State's Jason Lee in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. With the victory, Kolomyts evened his singles record for the 2009-10 campaign at 7-7. He is 2-1 in dual matches this spring with all three matches in the number three spot. The victory moved Kolomyts into seventh place on Buffalo's all-time combined victories list with 97, past Randy Rocchio (2001-05).
Mikhail Titov, Northern Illinois - Freshman
Freshman Mikhail Titov recorded a 6-3, 6-2 win over Eastern Illinois' Matyas Hilgert at No. 2 singles, and teamed with Roman Turtygin at No. 1 doubles to post an 8-3 victory, in the Huskies' 5-2 dual match win over the Panthers on Feb. 12. Northern Illinois captured the doubles point for the first time this season.
