Charlie Bull led the Zips to a top-five finish at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate (t-3rd of 15), Akron's first event of the spring. Bull provided a consistent effort for the Zips in carding three identical rounds of 1-over 73 to finish tied for ninth place (84 players) with with a score of 219 (+3). The top-10 finish is the first of his Akron career.

Senior Jeff Dick (Sherman, Texas/Sherman HS) secured his fifth straight top-20 performance on Tuesday, a streak that extends back to last fall's D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate. The senior closed with a final-round 74 to finish at even par for the tournament and tie for 12th. Dick (216, E) was among the tournament leaders in par 4 scoring (+1, T6) and pars (41, T2), a testament to his consistent play and ability to get up-and-down around the greens.
