Cairns earned a share of his first collegiate title while helping the Golden Flashes to a third place finish at the Windon Memorial Classic. Tied for fifth heading into Monday's final 18, the KSU junior made par or birdie on his first 14 holes of the day to move a top the leader board. Cairns finished the tournament that was comprised of five squads in Golfstat.com's top-25 and eight in the top-40 with a one-over 214 (74-71-69). He now has a pair of top five finishes in three events this fall. It was the first Fall season tournament win for a Golden Flash golfer since current Canadian Tour Pro Ryan Yip won the Notre Dame Invitational in 2004.

Akron junior Lucas Murray finished the Xavier Invitational in first place this week carding a 10-under 206 on the par-72, 6,921-yard Oasis Golf Club while helping lead UA to the same feat. As a team Akron posted a 15-under 849 (284-283-282) besting the second place opponent by seven strokes in the 12-team field. Murray is the first Zips player to earn a first place nod since the spring 2007 season and the team first place honor was the first since the 2007 fall season. Murray was one of four Zips to finish in the top-15 of the 69 player field.

Preston continues his hot start to the 2009-10 season with a second top-20 finish; his other finish was a tie for 21st. Preston has a season average of 72.0 through nine rounds, and includes two rounds under 70. Preston has Bowling Green's best round of the season to his credit; he shot a 65 in the first round of the Earl Yestingsmeier Intercollegiate. Preston went on to win that tournament; it was his first victory as a Falcon.
Nick Carbary, Eastern Michigan, Junior

13th Annual Windon Memorial Classic
220 (Carbary (Kalamazoo, Mich.-Mattawan) was the top individual for the Eagles, earning a tie for 12th place with a seven-over par 220 (76-70-74). Carbary's' finish was his second career top 15 showing in 11 career tournaments. Additionally, his second round 70 was his first round under par this season and the seventh under-par round of his career. Competing against some of the nation's elite teams, the Eastern Michigan University men's golf team again showed that it can hold its own on the links. Head Coach Bruce Cunningham's crew finished in fourth place with a 54-hole total of 882 (296-292-294).

Dick led the Huskies for the second tournament in a row with a 22nd place tie as he posted a final round 75 for a total of 223 (76-72-75, +10). He has now posted consecutive top-25 finishes.
