MAC Recognizes Men's Swimmers of the Week

MAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week (two honorees)


Connor Vander Zalm ? Buffalo

Junior - Kelowna, British Columbia, Kelowna

Vander Zalm won two events against  St. Bonaventure, to help Buffalo win its final dual meet of the season, 131-111. Vander Zalm swept the distance events, scoring a first-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle (9:51.60), as well as the 500-yard freestyle (4:42.49).  Not only was it Buffalo's first win against St. Bonaventure since 2000, but also the first time the men have finished  their season with a dual-meet record above .500 since 2000.


Derick Roe ? Eastern Michigan

Senior - Sidney, Ohio

Won the 50 free (20.61) and 100 free (46.13) on the individual side to help the Eagles defeat Ball State. He was also part of the winning 400 medley relay team (3:25.58) and the fastest 200 free relay team (1:24.40).
