Men’s Cross Country Friday Finale

 

Kent State takes third; Miami finishes fourth; Ohio places eighth; Akron ends race in tenth place and Bowling Green closes in at 18th at the All-Ohio Championship

The Kent State University Men's cross country team (110) finished third at the All-Ohio Championship today behind winner, Ohio State (42) and second place finisher Cincinnati (87).  The women (215) finished eighth at the meet.  Ohio University (63) finshed first on the women's side, followed by Ohio State (73) and Case Western Reserve (161).

The men were led, for the third meet in a row, by 7th place finisher (of 286 runners), senior Seth HutchinsonHutchinson clocked in with a time of 25:57.0 which was about 27 seconds off the first place time of Eddie Kipchoge of Bowling Green.  Finshing second for the Flashes and 14th overall was senior Ben Wietmarschen (26:23.1).  Sophomore Joe Parker was next for Kent State finishing in 26:46.8, placing 28th.  Finishing fourth on the team was senior Ryan Spellman (26:47.3) who placed 30th overall.  Junior Ray Armstrong placed 31st overall and fifth on the Flashes with a time of 26:50.0.
