WESTERVILLE, Ohio-- After one day of golf at the Medallion Club, the Akron Zips lead the field by ten strokes at the 2007 Men's Golf Championship. The Zips carded a two-round score of 563 for -13. Brad Wright of Akron leads the individual scoring, carding a 69 in both rounds today for a -6. Wright is followed by Peter Ahn of Kent State and Austin Steele of Ball State, tied for second with a -4 (140).
Ball State is in second place with a two-round score of 573 (-3), followed by Kent State (574, -2), Eastern Michigan (575, -1), Ohio (578, +2), Miami (590, +14), Northern Illinois (591, +15), Toledo (593, +17) and Bowling Green (596, +20).The third round of the 2007 MAC Men's Golf Championship will get underway at 8 a.m. on Friday, with the final round of 18 scheduled for Saturday at 8 a.m.
