MAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week
Vanessa Salerno, Kent State, Defender
Sophomore, Etobicoke, Ontario
Salerno scored her first collegiate goal in grand style Sept. 13 against CS Northridge, converting in overtime to give Kent State its third straight victory away from home. Salerno also was part of the KSU defense that posted a 0.49 GAA on the week with the team's second shutout in three outings.

Ridley led the Cardinals to their first victory of the season as she scored the game-winning goal against SIU-Edwardsville Sunday. Ridley posted her team-leading third goal of the season in the 66th minute as she bent a free kick into the top right corner for the Cardinals’ third goal of the contest. Ridley, a First Team All-MAC selection last year, has scored nine goals in her career.
Katie Kerr, Buffalo, Forward
Freshman, Burlington, Ontario (Nelson)
Freshman Katie Kerr scored a late goal against Niagara to give Buffalo its first win of the season. The only goal of the game came at the 88:48 mark to give Kerr her first career goal.
Keely Chandler, Bowling Green, Forward
Freshman, Rochester, Mich. (Adams)
Scored the first two goals of her collegiate career in Sunday's win over Youngstown State, providing all the scoring in BG's 2-0 win ... scored her first collegiate goal late in the first half, then doubled BG's lead midway through the second half ... the 2-goal game was the first by a Falcon since the 2007 season.
Liesel Toth, Central Michigan, Defender

Led the CMU defensive effort in a pair of 1-0 shutout victories over the weekend. Helped the Chippewas hold Valparaiso to only six shot attempts (none on goal) in Friday's victory. Part of shut down performance against preseason Missouri Valley Conference favorite Illinois State in which Central gave up nine shots and only three after halftime in an overtime victory.
Carissa Wilson, Eastern Michigan, Midfielder
Senior, Linden, Mich.
Wilson scored her first three goals of the season in earning her first career hat trick against Loyola (Md.). All three goals were off rebounded shots.
Julie Thompson, Miami, Midfielder
Junior, Glenview, Ill. (Loyola Academy)
After starting Friday at Morehead State, Thompson came off the bench in Sunday's win over Xavier to score the game-winning goal in the 63rd minute, finishing a cross into the box. It was her second goal of the season.
Kelly Mullany, Northern Illinois, Midfielder
Senior, Naperville, Ill. (Neuqua Valley)
Mullany helped lead the Huskies to victory Friday, when she posted an assist to Kim Schmitt that allowed Schmittt to score the game winning goal. Mullany recorded two shot attempts Friday, bringing her season total to four.
Cathryn Rogers, Ohio, Midfield
Freshman, Toronto, Ontario (Silverthorn Collegiate Institute)
Rogers scored the first goal of her career in the second half against Indiana State to lead Ohio during the weekend.
Nikolette Rivera, Western Michigan, Midfielder
Sophomore, St. Louis, Mo. (Lafayette)
Rivera netted the game winner, her first goal of her career, to extend WMU's undefeated streak to three games, all of which were on the road.
