The University at Buffalo softball team took on Akron this afternoon in a conference doubleheader at Nan Harvey Field. The Bulls dropped both games to the Zips, losing the first game 3-0 in eight innings and dropping the second game 8-1. The Bulls are now 18-15 (1-7 MAC) on the season. MORE

The Ball State Cardinals flew past the Bowling Green State University softball team in this afternoon's double-header (April 10), 7-1 in game one and 10-2 in game two. The Falcons fall to 7-20 overall and 2-6 in Mid-American Conference play. MORE

Kent State def. Ohio, 3-2

Stong performances from two starting pitchers and six different players with home runs lifted Kent State to a doubleheader sweep of Ohio Friday afternoon under gray skies with light rain at the Diamond at Dix.  Longballs from Kalie Germaine, Jess Carmichael and Heather Duhon helped give the Golden Flashes an 8-2 game one victory.  A trio of solo homers from Chelsey Jones, Katie Wheeler and Ashlee Hein provided all the offense in 3-2 win in game two.  MORE
