KENT, Ohio -- Kent State University hosts the 2009 Mid-American Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Kent State Fieldhouse with the two day event starting Friday, February 27 and ending Saturday, February 28.
All Twelve MAC schools will be competing for the women’s title at the annual meet. While only five MAC schools (Akron, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Kent State) will be competing for the men’s title.
Akron women’s squad is going for its fifth-straight MAC Indoor Track and Field Championship and the program’s sixth straight overall between the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Eastern Michigan men's track team has won 12 of the 13 indoor MAC titles, including nine in a row from 1996-2004 as well as the last three years in a row.
Opening ceremonies begin on Friday, February 27 at 10 a.m. Competition will end with Men’s distance medley relay scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m. on Friday. The meet will resume at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday and continue on through the Men’s 4x400 meter relay finals which are scheduled to start at 4:50 p.m.
One-day and two-day passes are available for those attending the meet. Tickets are $10.00 for the Single Day Pass (Adult) and $7.00 for the students. The Two Day Pass is $15.00 for Adults and $10.00 for students. Students from Mid-American Conference schools may attend for $2 per day with a valid school ID.
