Sven Burus ? Toledo
Sophomore - Slavonski Brod, Croatia (Gimnazija Matija Mesic)
Burus went 4-0 on the week and was denied a possible fifth win do to playing conditions.
He had singles wins at No. 2 versus Xavier and was leading at No. 1 singles versus Detroit before the competition was ended due to a light issue. Went 3-0 in doubles with wins at No. 1 doubles against Detroit, and No. 2 doubles versus Xaiver and Detroit.
Michael Calderone ? Western Michigan
Sophomore - Grass Lake, Mich. (Jackson Lumen Christi)
Michael Calderone led Western Michigan with three wins last week against No. 16 Michigan and Xavier. Calderone accounted for the Broncos point against the Wolverines by winning at straight sets at No. 2 singles. He also narrowly missed an upset of the No. 8 doubles team in the country, falling 9-7 on their home court. Calderone was even more pivotal against Xavier, as he won at No. 2 singles in straight sets and No. 2 doubles to help WMU win the match, despite playing only five players, instead of the required six.
Kirill Kolomyts ? Buffalo
Junior - Moscow, Russia (Moscow High School 155)
Playing second singles and doubles, Kolomyts helped the Bulls to a split in their season-opening matches in Rhode Island. With his two singles wins, Kolomyts moved into the Top 15 on UB's all-time Division I singles victories list with 34. He is 13-3 in singles this season.
Matt Hansen ? Northern Illinois
Sophomore ? DeKalb, Ill. (Miami Online, Fla.)
At No. 3 singles, Hansen recorded a 6-2, 6-4 win over Wisconsin's Luke Rassow-Kantor in the Huskies' 5-2 dual-meet loss to the 31st-ranked Badgers. In doubles action, Hansen teamed up with Jurica Grubisic, the Huskies' top singles player, but dropped an 8-2 pro-set decision at the No. 1 flight.
