Andrew Ladwig, Bowling Green, So., East Grand Rapids, Mich. (East Grand Rapids)
Ladwig carded a 209 to finish second at the John Piper Intercollegiate. He opened the tournament with back-to-back 68's to set a school record 136 (-8) in 36 holes of play. On the final day he fired a 73 to finish 1 stroke of the 54 hole school record. BGSU finished second overall at the John Piper (15 teams) Just a few days prior Ladwig carded a 71 at the Purdue Midwest Shootout to finish in a tie for first, his first career tournament win.
Graham Hill, Eastern Michigan, Sr., Brights Grove, Ohio (Northern Collegiate)
Hill fired an even-par 216 (70-75-71) to finish in a tie for third place here at the St. Mary’s Invitational on the par-72, 6857-yard Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach, Calif., Sept. 10-11. As a team, the Eagles placed fifth with a team score of 884 (294-300-290) as the Baylor Bears ran away with the tournament title carding a 878 (288-293-297).
Tim Kay, Northern Illinois, So., Bartlett, Ill. (Bartlett)
Finished rain-shortened (18 holes) event in sixth-place, but was just one stroke off of the lead pace, a five-way tie for first. Was consistent throughout his round, firing a 36 on both the front and back nine. Helped NIU finished fifth in the tournament and nine strokes off the lead.
Mark Phillips, Ohio, Sr., Hilliard, Ohio (St. Charles Preparatory)
Ohio's top golfer in the tournament. Fired a 225 (75-75-75) to finish tied for 26th at the John Piper Intercollegiate.
Justin Hull, Toledo, Sr., Royal Oak, Mich. (Kimball)
Helped Rockets post their best round ever in the seven-year history of the Inverness Intercollegiate with a 287 in the second round. UT's final team score of 895 was their second best in the tournament. Hull finished in a tie for 12th place with a three round score of 218 (73-71-74).
