MAC Annouces Men's Tennis Player of the Week

Men’s Tennis Player of the Week:


Brian Livingston
Northern Illinois
Junior ● Skokie, Illinois (Niles North)

Livingston picked up a pair of victories against #27 Wisconsin at both No. 1 singles (Jeremy Sonkin, 6-2, 7-5) and at No. 1 doubles with teammate Adam Ford against Sonkin and Luke Rasso-Kantor (9-8)


Other Nominations:


Kevin Hayward, Western Michigan
Hayward went 3-1 for Westerrn Michigan at No. 1 singles and No. 3 doubles against No. 21 Michigan and DePaul. Hayward teamed with freshman Casey Cullen for the Broncos' only win against the Wolverines and then won both his matches against the Blue Demons.

Jared Miller,Toledo
Miller went 1-1 in singles and doubles for the weekend. In singles he beat DePaul's Austin Doerner, 6-4, 6-4. He also teamed with Nutthavit Likitkumchorn to defeat DePaul's Alasdahr Graetz/Adam Williams 8-3. Against Kentucky, Miller and Likitkimchorn put up a fight but were defeated by UK's Will Beck and Alberto Gonzalez, 8-6.

Joe Vallee, Ball State
Vallee helped the Cardinals to a 7-0 victory at home vs. IPFW after posting wins at No. 1 doubles with a score of 8-3 alongside teammate Shaun Bussert. Vallee then took a 6-2, 7-5 match from IPFW at No. 2 singles. In a loss to No. 21 Michigan Vallee came the closest to upsetting the Wolverines losing in three sets at the No. 4 spot, 6-7 (5), 6-4, 1-0 (10-6).
