MAC Men’s Golf: Co-Golfers of the Week

 

Jace Walker

Bowling Green

Jr. ? St. Thomas, Ontario (St. Thomas HS)

Jace Walker finished fifth at the 2006 John Piper Intercollegiate this past weekend. The junior fired a 76 on day one in cold, windy, rainy conditions and on day two carded a 69, second-best score for the entire tournament. He helped lead the Falcons to a third-place finish among 13 teams, and his fifth-place finish came against 75 golfers.

 

 

Graham Hill

Eastern Michigan

Jr. ? Brights Grove, Ontario (Northern Collegiate HS/Indiana University, Pa.)

Junior Graham Hill fired a one-under-par 212 (71-70-71) to finish in a tie for fifth place at the Wolverine Intercollegiate at the U-M Golf Course in Ann Arbor, Mich., Sept. 16-17. Oregon State's Mitch Gillis took home medalist honors with a six-under 207 (65-70-72). Hill was the top finishing Mid-American Conference player in the field.

Mark Cimarolli

Sr. ? Pittsburgh, Pa. (Upper St. Clair HS)

Cimarolli turned in the most-consistent performance in this week's John Piper Intercollegiate as he helped the Bobcats to a fourth place finish in the 14-team tournament.  After shooting a 76 in the first round, Cimarolli turned in a 74 on the second day to leap from 31st to a 13th place finish individually.  Over the course of 36 holes, Cimarolli finished with a six-over 150 and his six birdies along the way tied him for the fourth-most among the tournament's 75 competitors.

 

 

 

AKRON

Brad Wright

So. ? Cambridge, Ohio (Cambridge HS)

Brad Wright led the Zips with a three-round score of 213 (71-68-74), earning a career-best eighth-place finish at the Wolverine Invitational last weekend. His first round par-71 and his second round two-under par-68 were the two best rounds of his young career. The par-71 U of M Course covers 6,704 yards. Wright's efforts helped Akron earn a season best third-place team finish.
