Miami Selected Tops In MAC Women's Tennis Preseason Poll

Cleveland, OH - In the 2011 preseason poll conducted among the Mid-American Conference women's tennis coaches, Miami was the choice to capture both the regular season title and the MAC Tournament championship.

Last season, Miami earned its second straight MAC Tournament Championship after defeating host Western Michigan, 4-1.  The 2011 tournament is slated for April 28-May 1 on the campus of Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Mich.

Returning First-Team All MAC selections from last year include Akron's junior Zara Harutyunyan, who was also last season's MAC Player of the Year, and sophomore Angelina Jogasuria.  Miami senior Anastasia Dracheva and Bowling Green senior Christine Chiricosta.

Returning Second-Team All MAC honorees from last year include Akron sophomore Angelika Jogasuria, Miami's junior Stephanie Danesis and senior Megan Martzolf, and Buffalo senior Alexsandra Petrova.

The complete voting totals are as follows with all nine head coaches casting votes.
