ATHENS, Ohio - The season continues for Ohio Field Hockey as the team prepares to host the 2009 Atlantic-10 champion Richmond Spiders in an NCAA Play-In game on Tuesday at Pruitt Field. Game time is set for one p.m. The Spiders won the Atlantic-10 title with a 3-0 victory over Temple on Saturday, granting them a shot at an NCAA bid.

The Bobcats come into Tuesday's matchup winners in nine of their last ten games. The team won the 2009 Mid-American Conference title with a 2-1 victory over Miami on Saturday, capping off an unbelievable run of nine consecutive conference victories. Marcy Dull (Ephrata, Pa.) was named the 2009 Tournament MVP and teammates Nina Bruno (Chevy Chase, Md.), Paige Herr (Lancaster, Pa.) and Courtney Seiders (Mt. Joy, Pa.) joined her on the All-Tournament team.

Scouting the Spiders: The Richmond Spiders come into Tuesday's match winners in nine of their last 11 games. They have posted an overall record of 13-8 including a 5-1 mark in Atlantic-10 conference play. With the clinching of Saturday's Atlantic-10 title, the Spiders have won six conference titles in the last eight seasons. They are led in scoring by senior Sarah Blythe-Wood, who has accumulated 21 goals and 11 assists for a total of 53 points (in 21 games played). Jacki Raithel has started every single game in goal for Richmond, posting a 13-7 record with six shutouts. She has made 83 saves and allowed 34 goals, and is the owner of a 2.11 goals-against average. The Spiders have outscored their opponents 63-34 in 2009 while outshooting them 307-191.

Previous Meetings: The Bobcats and the Spiders have only met once in program history, a neutral-site game in St. Louis on November 2, 2008. The Bobcats won 3-1 on the strength of a Paige Herr game-winning goal. Marcy Dull also provided a goal and an assist in the match.
