MAC Announces Women's Golfer of the Week

Grunden won in only her fourth career tournament. Her 54-hole score of 226 is third-best in Bowling Green history, and only one Falcon in the past 20 years has done as well or better. Grunden's season average of 78.00 through 8 rounds of play is on pace to break the current Bowling Green record of 78.54, set in the 2003-04 season.

Hill led all golfers with a low-round score of 73 strokes in the first round of the second annual Zippy Invitational this week at the Rosemont Country Club in Fairlawn, Ohio en route to a fifth place finish individually. Hill carded 77 strokes in the second round and 82 in the third while scoring 232 strokes overall in the three-round event.

Junior Darby Peters picked up her fifth career top-five showing with a 54-hole mark of 221 (73-73-75) at the Nittany Lion Invitational, Oct. 3-4. This marks the fifth consecutive tournament the Lake Orion, Mich. native has finished inside the top 10 for the Eagles. Her total of 221 is also just one stroke off the pace of her career-low for a 54-hole tournament at 220.

Junior Erica Rivard's runner-up finish on Tuesday helped Toledo to a second-place showing at the second-annual Zippy Invitational. Rivard carded a 13-over par 229 (77-76-76) to finish three strokes behind medalist Susannah Grunden (77-73-76=226) of Bowling Green.

Nittany Lion Women's Invitational

Britney Hamilton registered the best finish of her collegiate career, placing in a tie for third place with a final round 4-over par 76. Hamilton registered her third-straight top-10 finish at the Nittany Lion Invitational after finishing tied for eighth as a freshman and tied for sixth as a sophomore. The junior's three-round score of 221 also bested her previous 54-hole career low by 10 strokes. She had previously scored 231 in the 2007 Nittany Lion Invitational and twice more last season.
