Des Moines, Iowa -- Three MAC student-athletes received All-American honors at the 2008 NCAA Track and Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.

Akron’s Stevi Large had a throw of 206-3 (62.88) on her last attempt of the competition, the third-best effort of her career, to secure her All-American distinction, the 40th such honor bestowed upon an Akron track & field athlete.

Miami’s Kristina Bolterstein finished all alone in eighth place by clearing 5-10 ¾ on her third attempt. The product of Middleburg Heights, Ohio had to battle early on, taking all three attempts to clear the opening bar of 5-8 ½ before doing likewise at the second height of 5-9 ¾.

Western Michigan’s Danielle Brown started off the block with an off-balanced stride pattern and nearly fell during the second hurdle. She was able to recover and kept plugging along finishing the race with a time of 58.31 seconds. The seventh-place finish by the junior earned the Broncos two points and currently sit in 38th place going into Saturday's finale.
