Akron Still Leads After Second Day of Men's Golf Championship

WESTERVILLE, Ohio-- After three rounds of golf, the Akron Zips remain in the lead at the 2007 Mid-American Conference Men's Golf Championship. The Zips, who carded a 281 on the day, have a five stroke lead over second place Eastern Michigan.

The Zips finished day one with a ten stroke lead, but Eastern Michigan shot 14-under-par to end the day five strokes behind Akron, who carded a -7 on the day. Graham Hill paced the Eagles with a 67 (-5) today and is tied for first with Kent State's Peter Ahn with a -8. Hill and Ahn are followed by Ryan Culbertson and Brad Wright, both of Akron, in a tie for fourth place with a -7.

Rounding out the team leaderboard through three rounds are Kent State (854, -10), Ball State (862, -2), Ohio (871, +7), Toledo (884, +20), Bowling Green (886, +22), Miami (887, +23) and Northern Illinois (888, +24).

The fourth and final round of the 2007 MAC Men's Golf Championship will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Live scoring can be found at www.golfstatresults.com/.
