Cleveland, Ohio -- Western Michigan has been unanimously selected by the league’s head coaches to capture the 2007 Mid-American Conference championship in men’s tennis. The Broncos received a total of 30 points, well ahead of Ball State, which earned 23 points to finish in second place in the preseason poll. In voting for the MAC Tournament, WMU received all five of the votes cast to win the MAC Tournament.
Toledo was tabbed to finish third, Northern Illinois and Buffalo ended in a tie for fourth place and IPFW was selected sixth.
Returning All-MAC selections from last year are first team honorees Tim Bradshaw and Brady Crosby of Western Michigan and Joe Epkey of Ball State. The returning second team All-MAC honorees are Patrick Thompson of Ball State, Brian Livingston from Northern Illinois, Jared Miller from Toledo and Alex Birchmeier of Western Michigan.
MAC regular season competition begins March 23 and the league tournament is slated for April 26-28 in Fort Wayne, Ind.
