Sophomore Duyen Zu Voung opened her sophomore campaign on a strong note, taking home medalist honors three times against Bowling Green and Ursinus College. Voung captured the all-around title with a score of 38.725, the second highest score of her short career in the AA. On the floor she finished third with a score of 9.625. Along with winning the all-around honors, Voung also tied for first place in the bars with a score of 9.775, and the vault with a score of 9.775.

In her first meet back since recovering from a season ending injury last year she had a stellar performance, sealing a first place finish and a career high of 9.775.
Jessica Suder

In her first collegiate gymnastics meet, Suder scored 38.475 in the all-around as Central Michigan opened its season with a 191.075-180.400 win over Illinois State. Suder won two events, taking the balance beam with a score of 9.725 and the uneven bars with a mark of 9.675. Her 9.650 was second-best on the floor exercise.

Junior Erika Gilkerson of the Ball State gymnastics team scored a 9.650 on vault in the Cardinals opening meet of 2007 at Ohio State which was good for a share of a third place finish. Gilkerson placed higher than any other Cardinal against Big Ten foe Ohio State.

Tri-captain Kowalski helped lead the Golden Flashes to victory against 2006 MAC Champion Western Michigan University on Friday evening (Jan. 12). She earned a victory in the all around with a tally of 38.650. She earned a third place finish on bars with a mark of 9.775. Her other scores were a 9.525 on vault, 9.600 on beam, and a 9.750 on floor.

Kent State University was led to a huge victory over 2006 MAC Champions, Western Michigan, by junior tri-captain Kristin Peters who captured first place titles on both bars (9.800) and beam (9.700) as well as a third place finish on vault. Peters tied a personal best score of 9.900 on bars en route to her first place finish on bars.

She finished fourth on vault with a 9.650 in her first career attempt, and fourth on beam with a 9.550. She also competed on bars and marked a 9.275.

Senior Rebecca Fuss earned a first place tie on the beam with a 9.675 in the Eagles’ home opener. Fuss also took fourth place on the floor with a score of 9.500.
Jules Passy

Passy topped 9.600 on all three of her events as CMU beat Illinois State in its season opener. Pressed into leading off the vault after another gymnast was scratched from the lineup, Passy hit for a 9.625 in her first competitive vault in almost a year. She added a 9.700 to finish second on balance beam, and won the floor exercise with a mark of 9.675.
