Just two weeks off a sweet 16 finish at the U.S. Amateur, Kent State senior golfer John Hahn began the 2010-11 collegiate season in style. Shooting a -10, 206 (68-67-71), Hahn claimed individual medalist honors in the first tournament of the year to lead the Golden Flashes to a second place finish at the Sixth Annual Gopher Invitational. A two-time All-American, Hahn earns his four career win tying him for third place in Kent State history with current Nationwide Tour member, Jon Mills (1997-01). The win came in dominating fashion as he ended six shots ahead of the next closest competitor and was one of just four players in the 60-man field to shoot under par for the tournament.

Eric Steger finished second as an individual and helped the Ball State men's golf team to a tie for second at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate, a tournament that featured three of the nation's top-30 teams.

Freshman Chris Melvin paced the Falcons at the Marshall Invitational in his second career tournament. His two-under-par 211 helped the team to one of its four lowest 54-hole scores over the last four years. His first-round 70 was part of a total of 279, one of only three BGSU rounds better than 280 in the same four-year span. Melvin has a 71.6 average over the last five of his six rounds as a Falcon.

Austin had two of the best rounds in Miami history with a 65 and 66 in the final two rounds of the Marshall Invitational. His 10-under par score of 203 put him fourth overall for the tournament, the highest MAC finisher. It was only the second collegiate tournament of his career and his first full field event.

Redshirt senior Andrew Frame posted a one-over 72 in the final round on his way to tying for 23rd. He posted a cumulative score of 212, good for one-under at the historic par-71 course. It's the first time since the 2008 FirstEnergy Invitational that the Huskies have had multiple players (Frame and Tim Kay) break par for a tournament.

Senior Jean-Hubert Trahan spearheaded the Rockets' efforts ath the Marshall Invitational with a career-low five-under par 208 (70-70-68) to finish tied for 12th place.
