COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ball State University men's tennis team (15-15) lost 4-0 to No. 4 Ohio State (28-2) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday afternoon at the Stickney Tennis Center.

The Cardinals fell behind early to the Buckeyes after Ohio State won the doubles point to go up 1-0 over Ball State heading into singles play.  Despite an unfinished match BSU's No. 1 doubles tandem of Dalton Albertin and Cliff Morrison played close to No. 21 Matt Allare and Peter Kobelt only trailing 6-4 at the time the match ended.

In singles action No. 65 Devin McCarthy took down Alexandre Brym at the No. 4 slot winning in straight sets.  Morrison lost at the No. 3 position to give Ohio State the 3-0 lead.  At No. 2 singles Zane Smith dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision to No. 10 Chase Buchanan which earned the Buckeyes the victory.
