Male Scholar Athlete of the Week: March 7-13

Central Michigan Trent Howard (baseball)
Trent Howard (Jr., 3.27, physical education) threw a two-hit, 10-strikeout shutout against Indiana for a 3-0 CMU victory last week, never allowing a Hoosier to reach second base in the contest. Howard was dominant, facing just two over the minimum, taking a no-hitter into the fifth inning. It's the second time this season the junior has taken a no-hit bid into at least the fifth inning. It is also the second-consecutive outing he's fanned at least 10 batters.

The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during the week's competition. The winners are selected by a group of the conference's faculty athletic representatives.
