Male Scholar Athlete of the Week: Feb. 21-27
Bowling Green Patrick Martin (baseball)
Patrick Martin (R-Jr., 3.8, adolescent young adult education) hit a combined 4-for-10 (.400) over his three games played against Murray State this weekend. He ended with three of his four hits being extra-base hits, including two triples. His last at-bat of the weekend included a two-RBI triple that put the Falcons ahead in the seventh inning, 4-2, before the game was called due to weather, awarding the Falcons a victory. He also scored a run and slugged at a .900 clip. He also tossed one scoreless inning of relief in game two of Saturday's doubleheader in a loss.
The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during the week's competition. The winners are selected by a group of the conference's faculty athletic representatives.
