First Round of Women's Golf Regional Postponed

Today's opening round of the NCAA Women's Central Regional Golf Championships, where the Kent State women's golf team is competing, has been postponed due to rain. The tournament will resume tomorrow (May 9) with a shotgun start beginning at 8 a.m., with plans to play both the first and second rounds. Tournament officials have scheduled 36 holes of continuous play for Friday in order to get the regional back on schedule for Saturday's third and final round.

Kent State University is making its its third straight NCAA Central Regional appearance at the par-71, 6,033-yard Firethorn Golf Course in Lincoln, Neb. The Golden Flashes automatically qualified after claiming its fifth consecutive Mid-American Conference (MAC) championship April 27.
