The 2003 Academic All-MAC Women's Golf team was announced today with four of the five team members having also been selected to the all-MAC team then previous week.
The Academic team, as selected by league Faculty Athletic Representatives, includes first-team all-MAC selections Gabby Wedding and Martina Gillen of Kent State and Erica Bieniek of Western Michigan, and second-team all-MAC selection Shelley Binzel of Bowling Green. Jenny Schnipke of Bowling Green rounds out the Academic All-MAC team.
This honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50% of the contests for that particular sport. First year students and JC transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
