Western Michigan's Koetsier Sweeps Player of the Week Honors

MAC Pepsi Offensive Player of the Week

For the second times this year, Western Michigan's Kristin Koetsier is this week's MAC Pepsi Offensive Player of the Week. Koetsier averaged 24.5 points and shot 62 percent from the floor (21-of-34) for the Broncos, who picked up wins over Toledo and Ball State. The freshman had 23 points against Toledo,which marked the first time in 12 years that the Broncos swept the season series with the Rockets, and was also the first time in as many years that WMU won in Savage Hall. She then ended the week with 26 points and 13 boards versus Ball State, a win that clinched a tie for the West Division title.

Erica Glover, Akron -- Averaged 22 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in pair of Zips wins.

Kim Griech, Bowling Green -- Had 15 points in a win over Northern Illinois and averaged 14 points for the week.

Tiffany Bell, Buffalo -- Averaged 21 points and 7.5 rebounds in two UB losses.

Stephanie Smiley, Eastern Michigan -- Had 26 points and 14 caroms in a win over Bowling Green.

Jamie Rubis, Kent -- Averaged 17 points and shot 71 percent from the floor.

Amy Reed, Marshall -- Averaged 17.5 points and 9.5 rebounds, including a career-high 20 points against Ball State.

Jenny Martin, Miami -- Had 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting in a loss to Ohio.

Charbea Haller, Northern Illinois -- Averaged 22 points in two games, including career-high 27 versus Kent.

Jacquie Negrelli, Ohio -- Had a career-high 32 points against Miami and averaged 21.5 points for the week.

Courtney Risinger, Toledo -- Averaged 16 points and 3.0 assists in two games last week.

MAC Pepsi Defensive Player of the Week

For the third time in her short career, Western Michigan's Kristin Koetsier is the MAC's Pepsi Defensive Player of the Week. Koetsier averaged 10.5 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 1.5 steals per game, in addition to averaging 24.5 points in two WMU victories. Koetsier had eight rebounds and two steals in the Broncos' win at Toledo, then had 13 boards and six blocked shots in a victory over Ball State.

Francine Miller, Bowling Green -- Averaged 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game as BG went 1-1.

Stephanie Smiley, Eastern Michigan -- Pulled down 14 rebounds, 13 of them on the defensive end, in a win over Bowling Green.

Carrie Nance, Kent -- Averaged 4.0 steals and 3.0 rebounds per contest in two Kent wins.

Amy Reed, Marshall -- Averaged 9.5 rebounds and 1.0 block per game.

Lindsay Winkler, Miami -- Grabbed 10 rebounds and had a steal in a loss to Ohio.

Michelle Johnson, Northern Illinois -- Had 16 rebounds in a loss to Bowling Green and averaged 11.5 boards per contest.

Lisa Hindenlang, Ohio -- Averaged 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals for the Bobcats, who went 2-0 last week.

Jennifer Markwood, Toledo -- Averaged 11.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 0.5 blocks as UT split two games.
