Swimming Athlete of the Week and Team Notes

Pepsi Female Athlete of the Week
Eastern Michigan - Althea Lim - Freshman - Quezon City, Phillipines
-- Had four first-place finishes including three individual victories. Her victory in the 100 Backstroke was a personal-best time of 59.74 and was the eighth-fastest conference time this season. She also had the second-fastest conference time in the 100 Butterfly ( 58.02) and the third-fastest time in the 400 IM (4:35.34). Lim picked up her fourth victory on the 400 Medley Relay team with a time of 3:55.84.

Pepsi Male Co-Athletes of the Week
Ohio University - Brian Billips - Senior- Pickerington, Ohio -- Went six-for-six in dual meet wins this week as he won the one and three-meter board against Oakland, Ball State and Toledo. He averaged a score of 291.25 on the one-meter and a score of 292.43 on the three-meter this past week.
Northern Illinois - Mick Coyne - Junior-
Victoria, Australia -- Picked up five first-place finishes last week, including four individual victories. His time of 1:52.77 is a top-five conference finish this season in the 200 Backstroke, his 4:04.36 400 IM time is the fifth best-time in the conference this season and his first attempt at the 200 Freestyle this season gave him the tenth-best MAC time (1:43.41) of the year. Coyne also picked up victories in the 100 Backstroke and as a member of the 200 Freestyle Relay.

Other Notable Female Performances

Bowling Green - Bethany Budde - Had three first-place finishes including two individual victories in the 400 IM (4:39.97) and the 200 Breaststroke (2:25.04).

Northern Illinois - Ann Schmitt - Had three first place victories in the 1000 Freestyle (10:41.70), the 500 Freestyle (5:10.88) and the 800 Freestyle Relay.

Ohio - Hollie Bonewit - Had six first-place finishes including three individual victories in the 200 IM (2:07.39), 400 IM (4:28.97) and the 500 Freestyle (4:59.56) and three relay victories in the 200 Medley, 200 Freestyle and the 400 Medley relay. She finished the conference season undefeated in the 100 Breaststroke, the 200 Breaststroke, the 400 IM, the 100 Freestyle and the 500 Freestyle.

Toledo - Lauren Wehner - Had four top-ten dual meet finishes in the 200 Butterfly, 200 Freestyle, and as a member of the 400 Medley Relay team.

Other Notable Male Performances

Ball State - Louwrens Appelcryn - Had eight first-place finishes including seven individual victories. His time of 4:08.24 in the 400 IM is the seventh-best time in the MAC this year.

Bowling Green - Andy Jenkins - Had three first-place finishes in the 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle and the 400 Medley Relay.

Eastern Michigan - Bryson Tan - Won the 50 Freestyle, finished second in the 200 Breaststroke and swam on the winning 400 Medley Relay team.

Miami - Kevin Mulgrew - Had three individual firsts including a conference-best time of 9:28.03 in the 1000 Freestyle. Also picked up wins in the 400 IM and 500 Free.

Toledo - Craig Dukes - Had two third-place finishes (500 Free and 1000 Free) , three relay first-place finishes (400 Free, 400 Medley, 800 Free) and picked up and individual victory in the 200 Free (1:43.64)
