Central Michigan Falls to Illinois State, 85-73
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) -- Tarise Bryson poured in 41 points as Illinois State defeated Central Michigan 85-73 Sunday in a foul-filled game.
Bryson made 10-of-17 shots from the floor and 17-of-18 from the free throw line in helping hand the Chippewas their first loss in five games to start the season.
Illinois State (2-1) trailed 33-30 at the break, but made 58.3 percent of its shots from the floor and 24-of-29 from the free throw line in the second half.
Each team was whistled for 32 fouls, and they combined to shoot 79 foul shots. Two players fouled out and seven finished with four fouls.
Gerrit Brigitha and Tim Kisner each scored 20 points for Central, which held the rebounding edge 34-33.
Traves Wilson and Shawn Jeppson each added 11 points for the Redbirds.
