CLEVELAND (June 4) -- Five Mid-American Conference men's golf student-athletes earned first-team Academic All-MAC selection
in voting conducted by Mid-American Conference Faculty Athletic Representatives. Overall, ten
student athletes earned either first-team or honorable mention on the All-Academic squad.
Five different universities placed one student-athlete on the first team.
Jamie Broce (Ball State), Rich
Daugherty (Kent), Ed Maunder (Eastern Michigan),
Tee McCabe (Miami), and Billy
Williamson (Akron) all earned first-team recognition.
Earning honorable mention recognition are: John
Scudder of Ball State, Kent's Ben
Curtis, Sam O'Dell from Marshall, David
Emanuelson of Northern Illinois, and Toledo's
Tim Rice.
Academic All Mid-American Conference honorees are student-athletes who have excelled in academics
and athletics. To qualify a student-athlete must have at least a 3.0 grade point average during his or her
college career and be a starter or top reserve during the just-completed season.
