Bowling Green Extends Home Winning Streak to 17; Defeats Evansville, 92-87

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) (Nov. 21) -- Cory Ryan, Len Matela and Keith McLeod scored 20 points each Tuesday night to lead Bowling Green to a 92-87 win over Evansville.

Bowling Green, which extended its home winning streak to 17 games, was bolstered by shooting of nearly 57 percent from the field, including 8 of 14 from 3-point range.

Ryan, a 6-5 guard who came off the bench, hit 7 of 9 field-goal attempts, including 5-of-6 attempts at 3-pointers. The Fountain City, Ind., native scored 16 points in 14 games as a freshman last season for the Falcons.

Brandon Pardon added 15 points and had a career-high 13 assists for Bowling Green (1-0) on Tuesday.

The Purple Aces (0-2) jumped out to an 11-6 lead and led 26-24 with 8:11 remaining in the first half. The Falcons went on a 12-0 run and led 49-36 at halftime.

Evansville cut the Bowling Green lead to 62-58 with 13:46 remaining, but could get no closer. The Falcons forced 22 turnovers by the Aces.

Evansville had five players in double figures, led by Adam Seitz with 20, including 10 of 10 from the free-throw line.

Clint Keown had 17 points for the Aces. Chuck Hedde and Craig Snow added 13 each while Dan Lytle had 12.
