Higgins tied for second place to help lead the Rockets to a first-place team finish at the Spring Lakers Invitational. She averaged 78 strokes per round with a total of 156 (77-79).

Other Top Performances

Shelly Binzel (BGSU, Fr., Dublin, Ohio) tied for 10th individually at the Grand Valley State Lady Laker Invitational. She shot the second-lowest socre of the day on Sunday with a round of 76.

Heather Fueger (Ohio, Sr., W. Lafayette, Ind.) posted a second-round 76 to help the Ohio women's golf team to a fifth-place finish at the Fighting Camel Classic on Tuesday. She shot two rounds for a total of 157 (81-76) and a fourth-place individual finish.

Kristen Smith (WMU, So., Commerce, Mich.) shot a career-low 79 on Saturday and eanred team medalist honors with a 159, finishing seventh overall.

Team Notes

Bowling Green had the lowest team score for Sunday's second round with a 320. The Falcons tied for second place overall with a score of 655.

Despite an uncharacteristically slow start, Ohio finished fifth at the Fighting Camel Classic in Buies Creek, N.C., on Monday and Tuesday. Heather Fueger used a second-round 76 to propel into a fourth-place finish individually. The Bobcats keep alive their streak, having finished no lower that fifth this season.

Western Michigan recorded its highest tournament finish ever with a second-place showing out of 11 teams at the Spring Laker Invitational April 1-2. The Broncos shot 655, eight strokes off the school record, and won a second-place tie-breaker over Bowling Green by having the lower fifth scorer in the the final round.
