Pepsi Female Swimming/Diving Athlete of the Week
Eastern Michigan - Emily McCarty - Junior - Ypsilanti, MI
Swept the 1-meter and the 3-meter diving competitions as EMU won dual victories over Denison (133-110) and Northern Michigan (182-56). McCarty posted team and season-best scores of 278.15 in the 1-meter, the third-best conference score this season, and 294.40 in the 3-meter, the second-highest score in the conference this season. Her scores this past weekend qualified her for the NCAA Zone meet in March.
Pepsi Male Swimming/Diving Athlete of the Week
University at Buffalo- Dan Hickey - Senior - Brockport, NY
Helped lead the Bulls to a 131-110 victory over St. Bonaventure. Hickey won the 100 Freestyle with a time of 47.05 and the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:41.92. His time in the 200 Free set a new pool record at St. Bonaventure and marked the second time in two meets he has set a new pool record at a host school in the 200 Free. He was also part of the Buffalo first-place 400 Freestyle Relay team which finished with a time of 3:13.04.
Other Notable Female Performances
Toledo - Sheona Lottering - Won every event she competed in as Toledo defeated Louisville 141-102. Lottering won the 200 Freestyle (1:55.00), 500 Freestyle (5:03.10) and the 1000 Freestyle (10:26.16).
Other Notable Male Performances
Eastern MIchigan - Bryson Tan - Won the 50 Freestyle with a time of 21.32 and helped the 400 Medley Relay post a first-place finish with his season-best time on the second leg (breastroke, 57.16) as the Eagles defeated Denison 129-99.
Toledo - Ray Cubberly - Had two first-place finishes in the 500 Freestyle (4:49.40) and the 400 Freestyle Relay and a second-place finish in the 200 Freestyle (1:45.54) to help lead the Rockets past Louisville 129-106.
