Akron and Kent Wins Setup Saturday's Showdown
MAC East Division leaders Akron and Kent both won Wednesday night, setting up a battle for first place Saturday afternoon at the JAR in Akron. Bowling Green kept pace, beating Miami to remain tied with the Golden Flashes for second place in the East. The West Division tightened up as Western Michigan's win over Toledo, coupled with Ball State's loss at Kent, puts four teams within a half game of each other for the division lead.

Akron 89, at Eastern Michigan 81 - The 14th overtime game of the year involving a MAC team saw the Zips' (13-4, 7-1) Jami Bosley score all 14 of his team's points in the OT period. Akron maintained its slim one-half game divisional lead over Kent and Bowling Green. The Zips fought back from a 19-point deficit in handing EMU (9-7, 3-4) its fourth straight loss. Bosley led all scorers with 41 points. Corey Tarrant had 26 and Calvin Warner 22 for the Eagles.

At Bowling Green 68, Miami 63 - The Falcons (14-3, 6-1) came back from a 25-23 halftime deficit by shooting 73.7% (14-of-19) from the field in the second half.
