Cleveland - The Mid-American Conference announced its men's swimmer of the week today. The award went to Miami's Dave Bergan. Bergan won the 50 and 100 free and was a member of the winning 400 medley relay.

Dave Bergan - Miami
Senior - Cincinnati, OH
Bergan was instrumental in helping the RedHawks defeat their rival, Ohio
University, in the "Battle of the Bricks" for Miami's first MAC victory
of the season. In the final meet in Oxford, the captain started the
evening off by swimming the last leg of the 400-yard medley relay for
Miami's first victory. Bergan won his second race of the evening by
touching the wall first for the sprint victory in the 50-yard freestyle.
In Bergan's last race at Miami, he won the 100-yard freestyle to give
him three victories on the evening to help Miami in a thrilling victory
over its rival.
OTHER NOMINATIONS
Mark Sy (Buffalo) won the 400 IM in 4:09.05 and the 200 butterfly in
1:56.27. He was also part of UB's second-place 400 medley relay team
that finished in a season-best 3:32.45.
John Bartlet (Eastern Michigan) won the 400 IM with a time of 4:09.49
and was a member of the winning 400 medley relay team (which posted a
time of 3:27.42) against Ball State.
Vuk Danilovic (Toledo) Danilovic started his evening against Buffalo
winning the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 9:35.76 and ended it by
recording a top time of 4:43.98 in the 500 freestyle.
