Gillen competes at NCAA championship

Kent State women's golfer Martina Gillen (Dublin, Ireland/Maryfield College) currently is tied for 29th place after two rounds of golf at the 2002 NCAA Women's Golf Championships at the par-72, 6,273-yard Washington National Golf Club. Gillen shot a 74 for the second consecutive day, bringing her two day total to 148.

Individually Virada Nirapathpongporn from Duke University and Summer Sirmons of the University of Georgia are tied for the top spot carding rounds of 68-69=137 and 69-68=137, respectively.

The University of Arizona still maintains first place in team scores with rounds of 285-296=581. Gillen will compete in the next round May 23 at 1:50 p.m PST.
