Ball State, Marshall And Toledo Mentioned In This Week's Sports Illustrated

Three Mid-American Conference schools -- Ball State, Marshall and Toeldo -- received mention in the Nov. 6 issue of Sports Illustrated. Cardinal volleyball player Emily Sallee was in the Faces In The Crowd section for her becoming the MAC's all-time leader in assists against Northern Illinois on Oct. 20. Sallee, who has 5,954 caseer assists following BSU's win over Miami on Wednesday, is aiming to become the 11th player in NCAA Division I history to register 6,000 assists. Her current total is 13th in Division I history.

The 1970 Marshall football team, which 75 people perished in the worst disaster in American sports history, is remebered as the 30th anniversary of the crash is approaching on Nov. 14. ESPN will show a one-hour documentary at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8, while HBO will devote a segment of its Real Sports program on the crash on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 10 p.m.

In addition, there was also a column in the college football section on Toledo running back William Bratton. Bratton, a junior, has battled sickle-cell anemia since age eight.
