Cleveland - The Mid=American Conference announced its men's swimmer of the week today. The award went to Miami's Kelly Ball. Ball won four individual events and was a member of another winning relay team.

Kelly Ball - Miami
Senior - Granger, IN
Ball came from behind to win the 200-yard butterfly with a time of
1:52.42 over Wright State on Friday evening in Oxford, Ohio. Ball then
won his second race of the evening when he touched the wall in 1:41.38
for another come from behind victory, this time in the 200-yard
freestyle. With Ball's final leg on the 400-yard freestyle relay, Miami
was able to dramatically defeat Wright State on the last event of the
evening for Miami's third win of the season. On Saturday, Ball touched
the wall first in the 200-yard IM and the 500-yard freestyle with times
of 1:56.92 and 4:40.53, respectively over swimming power, Kenyon
College. Ball took the first victory by only one second and won the
distance event by six seconds.
OTHER NOMINATIONS
Patrick Lee (Buffalo) posted victories in the one- and three-meter
competitions. Against Niagara, Lee turned in a six-dive total of 278.03
points to win the one-meter event and took the three-meter board with a
six-dive total of 283.95. He followed against St. Bonaventure with a
258.68 point total on the one-meter board and a three-meter score of
285.90 to capture that event.
Andy Cebull (Eastern Michigan) won both distance events, posting wins in
the 500 free (4:40.60) and in the 1000 Free (9:32.05), leading the
Eagles to its fifth straight win of the year, defeating Oakland 149-88.
